the expiration of his term of engagement, or if this Agreement shall be terminated by the Government under the preceding clause the Government shall provide the said William Chatham with free first class passages to England for himself wife and child provided the conduct of the said William Chatham, shall have been satisfactory during his service and shall also pay to him half home salary during the time occupied on the voyage. and in the event of the said William Chatham being compelled at any time during the period of Three years to resign his appointment and return to England on account of illness not caused by any impropriety of conduct on his part and producing a Certificate from the Colonial Surgeon to that effect he shall be provided, with free first class passages to England for himself wife and child but if he should resign his appointment from any other cause he shall refund to the Government or to the Crown Agents for the Colonies the amount paid for the passages to the Colony. The return passages must in all cases be claimed within two months of the expiration or sooner determination of this Agreement

6. If the said William Chatham shall at any time neglect or refuse or from any cause (other than illness not caused by his own impropriety of conduct) become unable to perform or comply with all or any of the Articles of this Agreement, or all or any of the duties required of him or all or any of the orders or directions of the Government or its representatives or shall in any manner misconduct himself it shall be lawful for the Government to declare the employment of the said William Chatham under this Agreement to be at an end and thereupon his engagement shall cease and this Agreement shall not have any further prospective operation or force and all rights and benefits reserved to the said William Chatham, shall cease, but without prejudice to the enforcement of existing claims.

7. The said William Chatham, agrees to make no claim upon the Government or on the Crown Agent for the Colonies in respect of the fluctuations in the value of the dollar

The said Crown Agents for the Colonies shall not be personally liable for anything contained in this Agreement
